Welding Studs for Capacitor Discharge Stud Welding

Our capacitor discharge welding studs are engineered with precision for reliable performance, excellent weldability, and compliance with DIN EN ISO standards, ensuring strong, durable joints across diverse industrial applications.

Material

Our welding studs are manufactured from high-quality materials with excellent weldability. They comply with the material specifications outlined in DIN EN ISO 13918 and DIN EN ISO 14555. If you require welding studs made from other materials, please feel free to contact us with your inquiry.

Upon request, material properties can be verified with an inspection document (test report or inspection certificate) in accordance with DIN EN 10204. We are also happy to provide guidance on weldability with different base materials and optimal welding parameters.

Dimensions

The dimensions of our welding studs are specified in the measurement tables (all dimensions in mm). All standardized welding studs conform to DIN EN ISO 13918. Non-standardized welding studs are also supplied in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13918.

For special welding elements not listed in our standard range, we offer custom solutions upon request. Additionally, dimensions that are not included in our measurement tables can be produced upon request.

Stud flange

Welding studs for capacitor discharge stud welding is designed with a cold-formed flange. The flange diameter is always larger than the external diameter of the welding element (refer to the drawings and measurement tables).

The flange prevents the electric arc from transferring to the cylindrical part of the welding element and increases the welding area, ensuring a high-strength stud-welded joint.

Upon request, we can supply welding studs with flange dimensions other than those listed or even without a flange. However, we recommend limited use of welding studs without a flange, depending on the joint’s strength requirements. Please contact us for further guidance.

Welding tip

Our welding studs feature a cold-formed, calibrated welding tip, manufactured with precise length and diameter tolerances.

The welding tip plays a crucial role in the stud welding process as it initiates the welding process and determines the welding time duration. Since the exact dimensions of the welding tip are critical for achieving optimal welding results, strict tolerances are maintained to ensure consistent and reliable performance.
